Online Child & Youth Court Preparation
Online Child & Youth Witness Court Preparation Program
The Online Child & Youth Court Preparation Program responds to the needs of young witnesses who may be required to testify in court. Inadequate preparation may result in further trauma to a child or youth and their family and possibly compromise their ability to provide reliable testimony.
For those living in rural or remote communities—or for families without access to formal, in-person services—the program offers individualized, online sessions with a trained and experienced facilitator, scheduled at a time that works best for the child.
This initiative is a collaborative effort between Alberta Justice and Solicitor General and Public Security (Victim Services) and the CCAA.
The program is carefully structured to ensure non-contamination of evidence. At no point is the child’s personal case discussed, nor is any disclosure taken.
