2 Day Court Preparation & Court Accompaniment Training

Every child deserves to feel prepared, supported and confident when entering a courtroom.

The Child and Youth Witness Court Preparation model delivers trauma-informed, structured, and developmentally sensitive preparation that reduces anxiety, improves understanding of the court and justice system, and supports self-assured, meaningful participation from young witnesses.

Our intensive two-day in-person training program equips community professionals with the practical skills and confidence required to effectively support children and families navigating court.

The classroom style training guides participants through the knowledge required to best deliver court preparation and accompaniment services to young people. Through expert instruction, guided discussion, and interactive role-play scenarios, learners gain hands-on experience using child-centred preparation and accompaniment strategies. Participants will leave the training with increased confidence in supporting vulnerable witnesses through utilizing their enhanced knowledge, skills, and strategies.

Our goal at the CCAA is to ensure equitable access to evidence-based court preparation and accompaniment resources for all children, youth, and parents/caregivers, regardless of where they live. We are committed to help fill the “spaces in-between”.

Partner with us to strengthen your team and ensure children and youth are prepared, protected, and empowered throughout the justice process.
